Each 2-year certification period starts from the Registrant’s date of registration and follows thereafter in 2-year increments upon the anniversary of the original date of registration. This date is listed on the Registrant’s CEU report, found within the Member Profile section of the website. Under normal circumstances, Registrants are required to submit a total 40 approved CEUs on a bi-annual basis, in accordance with CVRP Registration Procedure S.65.
Registrants will automatically receive email notice at 90, 60 and 5 days prior to their annual renewal date. Renewal forms and payment will now be accessed from Member Profile as of April 1st, 2015. It is up to the Registrant to monitor the status of their CEU period.
Under exceptional circumstances, a Registrant may apply for extension of the CEU period. The maximum length of time that a Registrant may extend the CEU period is 60 days.
Subsequent to a 60 day period of extension for CEU submission, should the Registrant be unable to complete the requirements for CEU completion and submission, the Registrant should contact the Registrar to discuss re-instatement options.
EXTENSION OF THE CEU PERIOD
Only one application for CEU extension is allowed per 2-year CEU period.
Application for extension must be submitted no less than 45 days prior to the Registrant’s renewal date, with applicable fees submitted at the time of application.
Note: Completion of the Registration renewal process is required, inclusive of full payment of annual registration fees prior to the granting of CEU extension (see Fees: click here).
Failure to submit all required CEUs 30 days prior to the extension date will result in administrative and registration penalties (see: Fees – click here).
The Registrant must complete a written request for extension of the CEU period (see Register and Renew, Application for CEU Extension), outlining the extenuating circumstances contributing to the rationale for the period of extension.
Supporting documentation is not required to be submitted with the application but may be requested by the Registrar to determine eligibility.
The non-refundable application fee for CEU extension is required to be submitted along with the application (see: Fees – click here).
For submissions via mail for processing of payments made by money orders and / or cheques, an administration fee is required to be submitted at the time of application (see: Fees – click here).
